Year One — Running Now
Maraṇa Kāraka Sthāna, Read Geopolitically
Every planet has a house where it is at its weakest — its Maraṇa Kāraka Sthāna. In a personal chart that is an individual difficulty. Read against a nation, it becomes something else entirely.
The question the class is working now: what happens when a peace agreement is signed while Jupiter sits in its Maraṇa Kāraka Sthāna? Jupiter is the kāraka of counsel, expansion and peace. Placed where it is weakest, can an agreement made under it actually hold?
We are working that on an agreement currently on the table, not on a settled case from a textbook. You watch the reasoning being built before anyone knows the answer — which is the only honest way to learn whether a method works.

A nation has a chart. So does the person leading it, and the two are constantly interacting. When a leader's period runs against the country's, the country feels it — and the leader is usually blamed for something that was structural.

The first is the one Chanakya himself took. A Raj-Jyotiṣa is not a court fortune-teller. They are the person in the room when a decision is made, with timing as one instrument on the table alongside every other.
The second is commercial. Reading nations as well as individuals puts you in a category with very few people in it — and that is what turns a practice from session-by-session work into retained advisory work. It changes who will hire you, and what they will pay.
