Vāstu & Vedic Astrologer Kaartik Gor’s roots are from Somnath in Indian state of Gujarat.
Rituals were a daily affair, and I surrendered to the tradition of putting my hands together for obeisance only because there were sweets distributed after the ceremony. As a millennial, I had little interest in ancient traditions such as Vāstu and Vedic Astrology. The truth is, I did not believe in astrology. But I was always driven by the ‘Why?’ of things. I have always been fascinated by the course of logic, consequences, and impact, and I grew up falling in love with the sciences, technology, accuracy, and processes. I studied to become an engineer and was on my way to my job in Mumbai when the fates conspired to open a new window in my consciousness. The stunning accuracy of the astrological predictions guided me to seek a guru. I headed to the Himalayas to become a student of Gurudev, Pandit Rath, who initiated me into Vedic Astrology, Astronomy, Vāstu, Numerology, Mantras, and Ancient Scriptures.
My Gurudev’s words to me were: “Knowledge is an Ocean; start swimming.” After my intense years of studies and learning the ancient systems in the Himalayas under my Gurudev, I made my way to Dubai. I joined MNCs, assisting them as a project manager, with additional knowledge of Vāstu and Vedic Astrology. Soon, I earned the fame that spread among 84 nationalities. I began to teach and mentor students from over 30 countries. I find it therapeutic to help people with astrological advice and mentoring, and it gives me invaluable satisfaction to empower people to unlock their potential.

What is the Guru-Shishya Parampara in Vedic Astrology?
Given the proliferation of Vedic Astrologers worldwide, it’s essential to ask this question.
It’s undoubtedly good that this ancient astrology system is so sought-after today. Still, not many people know of the exalted status of the Guru-Shishya Parampara and its importance in Vedic Astrology or Jyotish, which is its Sanskrit term.
Jyotish is an integral component of the Vedas, the oldest existing scriptures over 5,000 years old and a vast treasury of knowledge that aims to improve humanity’s material and spiritual well-being. Through the Guru-Shishya Parampara, the knowledge and principles of Vedic Astrology were handed down the generations to preserve their purity and purpose. This distinguished heritage ensured the disciple received deep, profound, and exclusive insights based on the guru or teacher’s wisdom and spiritual evolution. Hence, the Parampara or Tradition is an essential determinant of the depth and vastness of the knowledge treasury handed to the student.

My teacher, guide and mentor, Pandit Sanjay Rath, belongs to the revered 2,500-year-old parampara tracing to Jagannath Puri. Belonging to a reputed family of astrologers from Bira Balabhadrapur Sasan village of Puri, Orissa, Pt Rath traces his lineage to Shri Achyuta Das (Sri Achyutananda) and further back in time to Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Pt Rath trained me in the Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra (BPHS), Jaimini Upadesa Sutras, Mantra Shastra, Shiva Purana and multiple classics as the foundations of Jyotisa and mentored me in other Vedic Astrology scriptures and sacred literature such as the Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, Puranas, etc. I am fortunate to have an association with my Gurudev for over two decades and fortunate to serve my lineage by taking the knowledge further and mentoring PJC courses for students of multiple countries and nationalities who want to Learn Vedic Astrology Online. Ethics
“There is a difference between making money and earning money.”
More than two decades ago, when I started to learn astrology, it was a path that chose me. My values, however, were my own. I have always believed in the words of Marcus Aurelius: “If it is not right, do not do it; it is not true, do not say it.”
Being a Vedic Astrologer comes with great responsibility. When you hold a person’s horoscope, you have a person’s destiny in your hands. There can be nothing more profound and humbling than this. It asks you to honour the principle of Dharma and practice Truth, Integrity, and Sincerity. My practice of Vedic Astrology, which I learnt from my guru from a distinguished parampara, is based on ancient traditions and their practical application. A credible Vedic astrologer doesn’t just make predictions; they also guide, advise, and nurture the individual’s spirit to evolve and attain its true potential. When they see challenges in a birth chart, they don’t instil fear in the person. They provide wise counsel. They guide the person to make positive choices so free will can mitigate karma.
This empathy and compassion towards fellow human beings are fundamental to conscientious astrologers. And if they are earning money doing so, it is as honourable a way to earn a living as is any job honestly done, and it is the proper conduct as opposed to making money by exploiting people’s fears.
It is Ethics versus Expediency.
I also believe in freely sharing my knowledge of astrology through mediums such as YouTube and my blogs. It’s important to enlighten people about the true essence of Vedic Astrology to see its noble intent. I believe being a Karma Yogi is the highest pursuit in life. If I could help you realise your goals, hopes and purpose more clearly, I would have performed the duty of my 10th House, which is the House of Work. It is directly connected to Swarga (Heaven), and I believe my every action must be in harmony.
