Diwali returns in 2022 on October 24. As one of the most important Hindu festivals, it is a day when the Laksmi Puja is performed and when there is a pooja, how can we not mention Muhurata?
One of my pet peeves is people’s belief that the best muhurata for Diwali pooja is the same for everyone.
Sorry to disappoint, but it is not. It would be like saying that every person born on a Tuesday has the same destiny.
Before we explore this concept, do read my blog that explains the best Muhurata for Diwali. It is calculated based on the Panchanga or the Hindu system of timekeeping which follows the lunar calendar.
Muhurata, in simple terms, denotes a division of time; a duration of 48 minutes is called Muhurata, and it must be chosen based on the event and the desired outcome. It is essential to check Muhurata to maximize returns.

Like we take different medicines for different diseases, every auspicious undertaking requires its own Muhurata.
Let us take the example of India’s famous Reliance JIO launch. At the beginning of September 2016, their consultant gave them one of the finest Muhurtas with Mercury in the ascendant with Jupiter and Venus. Mercury rules communications, and Reliance was assured they would dominate as retrograde Mercury signifies a great desire. Mercury in ascendant also ensures Reliance will spend huge money on infrastructure and put out irresistible offers.
The result? Reliance laughed all the way to the bank.
