Will Imran Khan return to power? I am often asked this question; here are my top 7 predictions based on Imran Khan Horoscope.
Imran Khan is called a legend in Pakistan. His tryst with dazzling fame was complete when he steered his team to win the cricket World Cup. Since then, he grew more famous until he finally became his country’s Prime Minister in 2018.
And then came his downfall in 2022, and the question has been: Will Imran Khan return to power?
Let’s look at Imran Khan horoscope for the answer using Vedic Astrology 👇🏿
Ascendant or Lagna: Sagittarius (Dhanu).
1st House: Mars. It is also his Ghatika Lagna (GL) and Pranapada Lagna.
2nd House: Rahu.
5th House: Moon and Jupiter.
8th House: Ketu.
9th House: Arudha Lagna (AL)
10th House: Mercury, Saturn, Sun.
11th House: Venus.
Imran Khan has a Sagittarius (Dhanu) Ascendant. That makes him bold and focused, and self-focused. He sees the world with him at center. At every stage of his life, he is the boss of all he surveys: as a sportsman, cricket captain, husband, social magnet, party chief and politician.
Imran Khan’s Lagna lord, Jupiter, is in the 5th House, making him laser-focused on the future. It’s all about planning, mapping, preparing, and paving the way. You can say it’s about vision, and he has it in plenty, but does he implement his plan well? His patchy run as Prime Minister of Pakistan tells us a lot. But we must give him full marks for being future-focused.
Imran Khan has leadership abilities, and his sports and political career have established that beyond doubt. His Prana Pada (elemental energies) is in Lagna, giving his ambitions a sharp edge. People with Prana Pada in Lagna are picky and hard to please because they have their sights set high. Imran was famous for not liking the selectors when he was a cricketer and for brooking no resistance or contrary views from his team. Many players have spoken about how Imran Khan took unilateral decisions.
Imran Khan’s Atma Karaka (AK), the planet with the highest degree in the horoscope, is Mercury. Ah! That’s a blooming rose with a thorn! Mercury is all about communication. Imran Khan is a charmer, and he can hold your attention. Yes, his good looks help, but he speaks well. But Mercury being lord of the 7th and 10th Houses, is also a bādhaka and the 10th House and lord in its own House. It’s the classic honey-and-vinegar blend.
Badhaka Atma Karaka Mercury is related to the 10th House of career, so his speech has often damaged his political image and prospects. Remember his allusions to Pakistan’s Army after being propped up by them all along?
The trouble with people with Mercury as their AK is that they know how to talk but don’t know when to stop. Dhanu Lagna and AK Mercury make him love to speak – Imran Khan is famous for his fast and loose talk. He loves talking to the media and can talk endlessly, but his views and opinions usually dent his and his country’s image. He cannot help putting himself in a spot. Yet, his Sagittarius Lagna makes him call a spade a spade, which has its moments but, more often than not, has landed him in trouble.
The most critical repair job Imran Khan can do himself is to practice restraint in his speech; he must talk less and choose his words.
Mercury also signifies sports, and we know Imran Khan’s stupendously strong track record in cricket; he was a terrific sportsman.

Imran Khan’s Mars is with the Prana Pada. It’s the coming together of elemental energies and Mars’ power. It gets him tremendous support from this action planet. Mars is the karaka planet for Army, and we know how closely intertwined Imran Khan’s journey to political fame has been with Pakistan’s Army. His association with Pakistan Army’s late Lt Gen Hamid Gul is known to all; it paved the way for Imran Khan’s political career.
Imran Khan’s Lagnesh, Jupiter, is associated with Moon in the 5th House. The message is clear: You are better off No. 2, as per Jaimini sutras. Now, how can he, as a Prime Minister play second fiddle? And to whom? The Pakistan Amy, of course. As long as he was soft clay in his hands, Imran Khan was doing fine. But when Imran Khan developed his preferences for Pakistan Army chief, the fat was in the fire.
The Parivartan also rules the judiciary and judges – Jupiter rules judges, and Mangal rules the judiciary. The Army would inevitably give him a tough time and try to render him obsolete.
The trouble started with the Parivartan yog in Imran Khan horoscope. Jupiter and Mars exchanged houses: Mars shifted to the 5th House, Jupiter moved to Lagna, and he fell out with the Army.
In the 5th House, Mars is forming a Rudra yoga with the Moon. Rudra implies a fight. The fight began about the future of Pakistan. Who will control it?
But Jupiter in Lagna offered him the safety net. Even after the no-confidence vote that ousted him as PM, Imran Khan’s popularity remained high, and he rode the swells of the massive sympathy wave.
Rudra yog also creates a threat to life. I had predicted his assassination attempt, which happened in November 2022. Imran Khan needs to be careful till October 2023 at least.
Imran Khan’s 7th Lord, Mercury, is a badhaka. It has given him a laundry list of troubles:
Charges of money laundering and questionable sources of political funds. These allegations will continue to trouble him.
The combination of Mercury-Saturn-Sun in the 10th House is a recipe for trouble. Saturn signifies taxpayers, hospitals, and the allegations of Imran Khan diverting funds from the Shaukat Khanum Hospital he built in memory of his mother, who died of cancer, are well known. He has told the court he returned the money to the hospital’s coffers, but the damage to his credibility is done.
Moon in the 5th House of Romance. It signifies robust libido, affairs, lust, and hedonism. It’s no secret that Imran Khan has always been a ladies’ man. The drugs, sex and lies narrative is an age-old script for many whose Moon drags a shadow along. Imran Khan’s life is rife with steamy stuff, including an illegitimate child, a high-profile marriage, ex-spousal lurid exposes, a third marriage of mysterious connotations and more.
Imran Khan was born on Dwiteeya tithi, and his tithi lord is Jupiter, with the Moon in the 5th House, forming a Gaja Kesari yoga. So, he gets fame, accolades, the good life, and riches.
His Arudha Lagna (AL) is in the 9th House, and its lord is in digbala, 2nd from AL. Imran Khan can destroy himself only if his passions go out of control, and the Mercury-Saturn combination can make his private life transgressions lead to a blowout.
October 2023 will bring a significant shift of dasha. Imran Khan’s 5th House of power gets stronger, and his AL is in a trine to the 5th House.
His 10th lord is in the 2nd House, forming a Simhasana yoga, so he will always be his handmaiden.
Till October 2023, he has zero chances of getting back into the political saddle, and neither will he be able to push for an early election. But between October 2023-2024, he gets his best shot at regaining power, and if he misses it, it’s curtains for his political ambitions.
Will the Army give him its blessings? October 2024 brings Jupiter antardasha with Mars, and he must build his bridges with the Army.
Imran Khan must leave the path of conflict and walk the route of compromise if he wishes to return to the centre stage of national politics. Aries is 5th from his Ghatika Lagna, and he can become powerful again. But, as I said, he would do well to reconcile with the Army.
